It's not hot at all. It's just a leotard. Dashbug (Member Question) Were you really a finalist in Miss Massachusetts? Amy Jo Johnson (Speaker) Yes I was... It was a few years ago when I was 16. HCAZ (Member Question) Do you know one of the v.r. troopers? Amy Jo Johnson (Speaker) Yeah, Sarah Brown, who plays the girl on the show, is my best friend and neighbor. Sabrena (Member Question) Did you do any acting before you became the Pink Ranger? Amy Jo Johnson (Speaker) Yeah, I studied in New York for two years. The Power Ranger is my first job, but I went to acting school and performed in several plays. HCAZ (Member Question) Do you believe the violence on Power Rangers is bad for children? Amy Jo Johnson (Speaker) There's a lot of positive messages on the show for kids that counter-balances the cartoony violence, in my opinion. Miilk (Member Question) Will there ever be a second Power Ranger movie? Amy Jo Johnson (Speaker) I have no idea. strechman (Member Question) How do you like being on Power Rangers? Amy Jo Johnson (Speaker) It's been a great experience. I've treated it like going to school for the last two years, learning to be in front of the camera. Miilk (Member Question) Did the old Power Rangers really leave to Switzerland? Amy Jo Johnson (Speaker) On the show they did, but in real life no. halucin8 (Member Question) What is your favorite flavor of ice cream? Amy Jo Johnson (Speaker) Civilian fights in street clothes...that's me. But the Power Rangers battles in costume is stunt doubles. IM JORDAN (Member Question) HAVE YOU EVER GOTTEN HURT FROM THE STUNTS ON THE SHOW? Amy Jo Johnson (Speaker) No, I've been very lucky. Amy Jo Johnson (Speaker) Yes, I was pleasantly surprised. Ivan Ooze, played by Paul Freeman, makes the movie for me. He's an incredible actor. LIBYA (Member Question) Do you have a boyfriend? Immortal 13 (Member Question) Are there any drawbacks to being a TV star, and do you have any other movies planned in your career? Amy Jo Johnson (Speaker) I just did a movie called "Susie-Q" with Shelley Long. I play a ghost and Shelley plays Justin Whalen's mom. It will be out around Christmas. ZANITOES (Member Question) Hi Amy, what happened to Zach, Trini, and Jason? Amy Jo Johnson (Speaker) They went to Switzerland, remember? ZANITOES (Member Question) Are you really going out with Jason Frank in real life? Amy Jo Johnson (Speaker) No, Jason is married. ZANITOES (Member Question) Which character makes you laugh the most on Power Rangers? Amy Jo Johnson (Speaker) Bulk and Skull. (Jason and Paul.) pokey hontas (Member Question) Is the Power Rangers the first real acting experience you have had, both on T.V. and in the movies? Amy Jo Johnson (Speaker) Not the first acting experience. I do a lot of stage work. But Power Rangers was my first on-camera role. Darque271 (Member Question) Do you watch the show??? Also do you own any MMPR toys??? Amy Jo Johnson (Speaker) My mom has all the toys. I don't have any of the toys right now. My mom's holding onto them in case I want them later on. Moderator (Speaker) Amy Jo says that one of the best things about being a Ranger is that it has helped her to conquer her fears about acting. She used to get so nervous before going onstage that she would cry! G A Thrawn (Member Question) Do you Like Star Wars? Amy Jo Johnson (Speaker) Yeah. Mega Matt X (Member Question) I've heard mixed messages about the show's popularity. Do you know if it is really as popular as TV ads tell it to be? Amy Jo Johnson (Speaker) Yeah, it's the number one kids show on Fox and the movie opened in the top 5. Moderator (Speaker) Amy Jo loves to paint, and her favorite color is the rainbow. But if she had to choose just one color, it would be purple. Like to 69 (Member Question) Where do you live? Amy Jo Johnson (Speaker) None of your business. Moderator (Speaker) Whoa! Space Jam (Member Question) Did you ever get sick of gymnastics since you did it for most of your life? Amy Jo Johnson (Speaker) No, I don't do it all the time. I just work out when I feel like it. Bobby Crosby (Member Question) Do you read comic books? If, so: Which ones do you like? Amy Jo Johnson (Speaker) No, I don't. Sorry. Buckeye Jr (Member Question) Are you like Kimberly in real life? Amy Jo Johnson (Speaker) No, not at all. I hate shopping. We do look alike, however. Moderator (Speaker) Amy Jo's fellow cast members call her "A.J." She is a world-class gymnast. Phoenix Hawk (Member Question) Are you thinking about staying as an actress? Amy Jo Johnson (Speaker) Yes, I want a film career. Falconzord (Member Question) Do your friends call you Kimberley or Amy? Amy Jo Johnson (Speaker) Kim...just kidding. Actually they call me AJ. Moderator (Speaker) Amy Jo was a finalist in the Miss Teen Massachusetts competition. She was also a competitive gymnast for ten years, appearing at international gymnastic meets in Europe. When she's not being a Power Ranger, she enjoys painting, singing and playing the gu itar. Two Times A (Member Question) How were you discovered? Amy Jo Johnson (Speaker) I had just moved to LA, and had my first audition, which was Power Rangers. And lucked out. They were looking for somebody who knew gymnastics, and that was me. Moderator (Speaker) A bit of history: Kimberly has been a Power Ranger since Zordon created them in the very first episode. tordy (Member Question) How do they do Zordon's face? Amy Jo Johnson (Speaker) Special effects on the green screen. Moderator (Speaker) Amy Jo's birthday info: She was born October 6, 1970 in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. I like the Grateful Dead, classic rock, I love the Beatles and I love Kate Bush and Tori Amos and Classical music and all kinds of music except for most rap, with a few exceptions. Moderator (Speaker) Amy Jo has always liked doing things that scare her. When she was little, she says she was a kamikaze. Oakbrook Bill (Member Question) Do you enjoy being involved with the whole Power Ranger Craze? Amy Jo Johnson (Speaker) Sure, it's been a great opportunity and opened many doors. Moderator (Speaker) Power Rangers, a TV show concept that no network would pick up for eight years, is now on its way to making over $1 billion in merchandise. Power Ranger videos have sold over 8 million units, and the Pink Power Ranger doll is one of the record-selling toy s of all time. PaulaKZ (Member Question) Are there going to be any interesting plot twists that you can hint at in upcoming episodes? Amy Jo Johnson (Speaker) There's going to be a lot of changes on the show next season, in colors and the characters. I'd love to tell you more, but I can't. Moderator (Speaker) I see that Amy Jo also loves to tease! Flea Ragg (Member Question) Which one of the Power Rangers were you closest to? Amy Jo Johnson (Speaker) That would be Jason Frank and Karen, but actually, out of work, none of us really hang out because we're together all day long at the set. Moderator (Speaker) How well do you know your ThunderZords? Black Ranger = Mastodon Lion ThunderZord, Blue Ranger = Triceratops UnicornThunderZord, Yellow Ranger = Sabretooth Tiger Griffin ThunderZord, Red Ranger =Tyrannosaurus Red Dragon ThunderZord. But what is the Pink Ranger's ThunderZord? The answer is coming up... UNCCman (Member Question) How long did it take to make the movie? Amy Jo Johnson (Speaker) Three and a half months in Australia, which was beautiful... we do four episodes of the TV show every two weeks. Kurfinah (Member Question) Do you really wear pink? Amy Jo Johnson (Speaker) I have no pink in my wardrobe. I only wear it when I go to the set. PTMike (Member Question) Which is your favorite zord? Amy Jo Johnson (Speaker) The Falcon Zord...but if I could pick my own zord, I would be the Butterfly Zord. Moderator (Speaker) Okay, here's the answer to my previous question about Pink's Zord... Moderator (Speaker) The Pink Power Ranger's Zord is... Pterodactyl Firebird Thunderzord! The Pink Zord can be used as a boomerang that is shot from the TigerZord's arm. Another fact: When the Blasters fail, Kim uses her Power Bow to get her out of tough situations. Moderator (Speaker) This is stuff you can't learn in college!! Cacie Johnson (Member Question) Amy Jo -- Where do you really live? Where is the Power Rangers filmed? Amy Jo Johnson (Speaker) The Power Rangers is filmed in L.A. technonerd (Member Question) Are Power Rangers filming for the new season yet? Amy Jo Johnson (Speaker) We started filming a few weeks ago, right after the movie opened. S14 (Member Question) What do you do in your spare time? Amy Jo Johnson (Speaker) I oil paint and acrylic paint, play my guitar, read plays, hang out with my friends and hang with my cat, Zoey Picklena. Candy Kong (Member Question) What would you say to the children of America if you had the chance? We are Grayson and Ryan, six and seven years old, and have two questions: (1) How do you get into your costume so fast when you become a Power Ranger? and (2) Are power blasters real? Amy Jo Johnson (Speaker) Through the magic of television, we film the show scene by scene, and it's all a fantasy, it's not true. COOLER BOY (Member Question) WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TV SHOW BESIDES YOURS? Amy Jo Johnson (Speaker) "Mad About You" is the only show I watch. The Neo (Member Question) Hey AJ, I noticed that They Might Be Giants did a song for the movie soundtrack... did you ever meet John Linnell and John Flansburgh? Amy Jo Johnson (Speaker) No, I wish. I love They Might Be Giants. Rhondor (Member Questions) How do you feel about all the copy-cat shows... (teenage mutant crime fighters from Beverly Hills and the like)? Amy Jo Johnson (Speaker) Doesn't bother me. I've never seen them, so I can't judge them. Lady Tsubame (Member Question) Have you seen the Japanese Rangers yet? Amy Jo Johnson (Speaker) Actually, some of the actors in the Japanese version are the stunt doubles here on our show. I've seen bits and pieces of the Japanese version, and saw the original pilot for this show that was filmed 8 years ago. They're all pretty similar. JLYTLE (Member Question) How long do you think Power Rangers will go on? Amy Jo Johnson (Speaker) My guess is another year. That's my own opinion. S14 (Member Question) What is your favorite food? Amy Jo Johnson (Speaker) I'm sitting here starving as you ask. I just ordered a Chicken Caesar Salad. But I'm not really quite sure what I like right now. I wish I knew. I'm STARVING!!!! Which one is the pink Zord and which one is the white? Amy Jo Johnson (Speaker) The Pink one is the HEAD on the megazord and the falcon, the white one, is the wings. wolfzord (Member Question) How many Power Ranger Episodes do they make in a year? And how long does one episode take to make? Amy Jo Johnson (Speaker) I've been on the show two years, and we've done 127 in that period of time.
